I have always believed that truth telling is an important part in any relationship between people. However, it is not the most important consideration and sometimes is unnecessary. In reality, any individual has privacy or truth untold to others and sometimes a lie is beautiful.

It is essential for people to keep secrets and privacies which lead to truth untold. The society is formed by individuals. Each individual has the rights to keep his or her own privacies from telling others. When all the truths are being told, the privacies can be undermined. This might not only cause one’s physical damage but also one's mental damage. For example, an employee from a company had close relationship with another employee from the hostile company. It would be reasonable and plausible for both of them to share their thoughts about their jobs and companies but commercial secrets would definitely be hidden and avoided and this affects nothing on their relationship.

Sometimes lies play important roles that benefit our life. The opposite of the truth is the lie. Truth does not always do well to people and lies do not always hurt people. If the purpose of a person is to help others, it would be fine no matter the expression is true or not. In certain cases, lies settle people down to have a better attitude and have other benefits. For instance, a patient in the cancer curing room is waiting for the result of the inspection. His family, knowing that that the patient will be dead in a few months, would tell him the truth and watch him suffer from the fright of death and die with unclosed eyes? The answer is certainly, no. They would tell him a beautiful lie that he would probably live for another decade. In the worst situation, the patient finds out the truth in his last days but understands the purpose of his family and dies in peace. In the fantasy, the bright mood and the optimistic attitude inspired by the lie could save him from death and they make the lie come true. In this case, we can clearly see that the beautiful lie is more beneficial than the truth.

Finally, it is safe for us to conclude that always telling the truth is not playing the most significant role in all relationship. The argument of telling the truth all the time cannot be justified and concern about people’s privacy and beautiful lies should be taken into consideration.
