I. Warming up

1. About short messages:

① for reminding or thanking sb

② should make a good impression on the people who receive them

③ can be on any topic, but they should follow these rules

Think  and answer the Qs.

To arouse Ss’ interests

II. Presentation

1.  Rules about short messages.

2. Start with a greeting (Dear …).

3. Talk about the topic in the first sentence.

4. Give the message clearly in a few words.

5. End with a friendly expression   (Regards, etc.).

Discuss and write down some notes.

To prepare for the writing

III. Post-task Activity

1. Finish Ex. A.

2. Try to write a short message(Ex. B).

3. Write the short message and show some good ones to Ss.
