How
to Be A Good Teacher
As most
believe, a teacher inflences on a child’s development as much as parents,
sometimes even more. So a teacher is always expected to behave as a model in
every aspect. For instance, a qualified teacher should be a person with
physical and psychological well-being, healthy outlook on life, optimistic
personality, plentiful knowledge, professonal skills on a specific field, and
most importantly, responsibility. At the same time, a good teacher can spread
his own good personality and knowledge to the students and also can direct the
students into being valuable people. So many people will ask what on earth are
most contributive to being a good teacher. From my perspective, the
qualifications of a good teacher are as follows.
First, a good
teacher must have a strong sense of responsibility, not only for the study of
students but also for their healthy growth. Only with responsibility, a teacher
can have the motivation to make the lessons interesting and attractive so that
the students can achieve much during the learning and find it easier to
understand difficult knowlege. Besides, a responsible teacher will take all the
students into consideration and never give up any one. Because a good teacher
knows study doesn’t mean everything to modern students; their moral education
is more important. Thus, a teacher with responsibility would like to spare time
and make efforts to help students with all-round development. Second, a good
teacher should regard teaching as more career than a job. As we know, interest
is the best teacher. This proverb is also the same with teachers. Only when a
teacher enjoys his work can he love the studens and find himself more
motivated, creative and devoted. Last but not least, a good teacher should be
encouraging. Actually, every student has his or her own potential. If a teacher
only focus on the students’ high marks and good performence in study, it is
very possible to have a negative impact on their development and maybe kill a
genius.
There is an old
saying, “give me a fish and I eat for a day; teach me to fish and I eat for a
life time.” This philosophy worth every teacher’s thought. I believe I can
become a good teach as long as I strive for this ideal. |
