People say that Guangzhou is a beautiful city but I did not think so in the past. Since I lived here many years ago, I had never seen that how beautiful Guangzhou was. I had just seen there were many tall and modern buildings. However, I did not think that modern means beautiful. However, now I met a beautiful Guangzhou in some narrow lanes in the activity of "Discovering Guangzhou" last summer holiday.

I went to an old dock in Tongfu Road. I want to find another Guangzhou there. At first, I walked through Tongfu Road. It was a wide, clean road, just like the others in Guangzhou. I felt bored. I was boring to see things nearly the same. I want to see something different and beautiful.

When I passed a bus stop, I found a narrow lane and sunshine on the walls beside the lane. In the lane, it was very beautiful and peaceful. Then I entered it. There were some mosses on the walls at both sides of the lane. The road under my feet is made of stones. I thought that it was an ancient road. I felt comfortable and relaxed in that lane. Maybe I found the beauty that I always want to find in Guangzhou.

I went out of the lane in the other side and saw an unbelievable scene: there was a village in the city! In the village, there were some old, high trees, some mud roads, just like those in the countryside! People were very leisure and carefree here. The old dock was in the village and the Pearl River was beside the village. The water washed down the embankment and made some traces of time.

After the unforgettable trip, I've gained a lot. I met not only beauty at the end of the lanes, but also a different Guangzhou, a quiet and quaint Guangzhou.
